New Leaf Digital is excited to announce another 32/10 Founder Focus event featuring Y Combinator startup, Wefunder, who is flying to Huntsville from San Francisco to share the founding story of their equity crowd-investing platform. We'll interview Wefunder fireside chat-style in front of an audience of 500 at the Randolph School's gorgeous Thurber Arts Center auditorium.

Wefunder started in Boston, where their founders schemed of a way to make it more accessible for startups across the world to receive investment capital. In 2012, the team traveled to Washington DC to lobby the SEC to change its rules against unaccredited investing. In the process, the team met President Obama, who ultimately signed their arguments into the JOBS Act.

Shortly thereafter, Wefunder was accepted into Y Combinator ( and traveled to San Francisco to participate in Y Combinator's prestigious startup incubator program. Since then, Wefunder has processed over $30 million in startup investments from investors around the world. Thanks to the JOBS ACT's stipulations about Regulation Crowdfunding, Wefunder investors are allowed to invest as little as $100 into startups and a receive stock in that company (like Kickstarter for equity).

(Fun fact: New Leaf Digital founder Chris Beaman became friends with the founders of Wefunder while co-working together in Boston. You never know where folks will wind up. Perhaps one of the innovators at CoWorking Night will wind up doing something as significant as Wefunder!)

As with our prior Founder Focus event with Daily Burn, we'll start things off with an hour of food, drinks and networking. At 7pm, we'll hear about Wefunder's founding story from Fundraising Director, Dylan Enright, before taking questions from the audience at 7:30pm. Finally, at 8pm we'll welcome everybody onto the stage to meet Dylan and network over coffee and dessert.

New Leaf Digital is a 501(c)(3) innovation education nonprofit based in Huntsville, Alabama. Our 32/10 program (pronounced "thirty-two ten") is a leadership development program for young professionals who are interested in business and innovation.
